Letters From Mikelle

Classroom Favorites

Here are some things that I buy at the beginning of every year!

#1 Take Home Folders

I prep these Take Home Folders at the beginning of every year. These folder have a clear sleeve to personalize the front. On the inside there is already a vinyl label on each side that says “LEFT At Home” or “Bring RIGHT Back”.

#2 Candy – Pop Rocks

I’ve used Pop Rocks for a couple different ways throughout the years. I’ve used them as birthday gifts saying “I hope your birthday ROCKS” and as an open house gift that says “4th Grade ROCKS”

#3 Colorful Marker Pens

Ask any of my former collegues, students, or student teachers, I LOVE these pen/markers. They are perfect because they are a little thicker than a normal pen, so when I’m writing under the document camera it’s easier to see. And it makes grading so much more fun!

#5 Colorful Paper

I always walk my class through a step-by-step self portrait the first week of school. I love hanging these on colorful paper and hanging them in the hallway.

#6 Sticky Notes

I use sticky notes ALL THE TIME! I write behavior notes, to-do lists, and we used sticky notes for student data binders.

#7 Anchor Chart Paper

I love making anchor charts for different subject concepts. I make charts for tracking transitions, expectation reminders, our classroom promise, and so much more!

#8 Stickers

I just love labeling ALL THE THINGS! These 8.5×5.5 stickers are the best for keeping composition notebooks organized.
